Packed our house and BMW - Time to drive to Florida!
So the day has come, we are all packed and ready to set off on our journey to Florida!
Our planned route:
We decided to head west and cross via the Detroit, MI border and take the I-75 all the way down. Our reasons for this is that there were less mountain roads to drive our U-Hual and car in tow through and because there would be more service stations and stops on the way. It is also way less complicated than taking the more eastern route getting on and off the I-95 and various highways. I hear that route is more scenic, but better driven in a car or SUV without a car trailer in the back. Our plan was to stop for 1 night in the Chattanooga area.
Instead of spending the night in Chattanooga, TN like we had originally planned, we decided to soldier on. Filled with adrenaline, excitement and some Red Bulls to pull an allnighter. The drive at night was much more relaxing and less stressful due to not having to constantly check your mirrors for traffic and to make sure you are still in the narrow lanes. Getting to watch the sunrise was a great bonus.
We made it to our Fort Lauderdale destination in just under 26 hours.
TN Visa finally approved! - Time to pack!
Our truck almost getting full. |
If anyone has any questions on the process of applying for a TN Visa please let us know, we are happy to help and give advise.
Some high level info on our planned steps and timelines so far:
- Time to put TN package together (1-2 weeks)
- Drive to Niagara Falls border (1 Day)
- Drive back (1 Day)
- Pack everything into a U-Haul (1-2 weeks)
- Drive to Florida! (2-3 days)
More to come in the next updates...
